1.BRIEF

The lyrics
2. UNDERSTANDING
From Wikipedia
Dealing with poverty in inner-city Salford in the Britain of Margaret Thatcher, Cooper Clarke has said that the poem was inspired by Camp Street in Lower Broughton.[1] It has a relentless theme of squalor and despair.
My understanding
I have extracted specific items from the lyrics.
3. REFERENCES
For this project I won’t be making a book, but a toy about the Beasley Street theme. Something like Art Toys, Designer Toy or Bootleg Toys.
Bootleg Toys has a limitation in that it is character-based and does not reflect the realism of the scene in which it is placed. And in Beasley Street, John Cooper Clarke wanted to express not himself, but the mood through the street. So I looked for toys to make that could express emotion and exasperation by creating scenes.
4. PROCESS
At first, it was intended to make a number of small boxes, each containing the same items that appear in Beasley Street. I decided to design Artist Toy.

5. OUTCOME
Press the switch on the side of the box and the text on the box will appear. ( see below)

All the toys are detachable and the player can combine and paint as many as they like. I have put the important message from the poem in the tube and there is a space under the stairs where the player can create secondary artwork.
